Saturday Morning Stuff

Hi everyone :)  I hope you all had a manageable week and ready to start the weekend!! :)

Recently I picked up the Revlon's Peach Petal nail polish and I fell in love with it. Then I saw the Peach Petal lipgloss at Walgreens and it was on clearance... and I had to get it  :) I love the peachy petally shades! LOL I got it for $1.20 or something. Why it was on clearance... no idea. It was sealed of course. I guess they're trying to get rid of their inventory to make room for newer collections?

Isn't it really pretty? I haven't used it yet, but I did swatch it on a clean paper  =p I can tell that it's a really nude shade that will look striking for people with pigmented lips like myself. I just hope it won't look frosty... that's the worst!! I hate the peal of looking like a clubbing style lip whore when it's inadvertently in overshine. Know what I mean? :) That's how I feel about frosty shades. YUCK! Anyway, I can't wait to try this :) High hopes! To be quite honest, I'm not a huge fan of the formula. I feel like the glosses just stay on the surface and never really penetrate and nourish the lips. But that could just be the shades I have since they are significantly older.

Yesterday I went to the Korean part of town (El Camino Rd in San Jose for those who are familiar) :) I had Korean food... YUM! :) In the plaza, they also have the Face Shop where they sell a myriad of Korean skincare and makeup. Tons of cleansers, BB creams, cosmetic stuff. It's a dainty little store that has a lot of their popular items sold in Korea. Not too far outside the plaza, there is another one near the Galleria market... where they sell skincare and stuff.

Have you gals heard of this brand? The SA convinced me to try this since I ran out of my moisturizer. I couldn't find any reviews on it online. She said it's really popular in Korea. Ahh, I don't know :p I'll have to try it... not sure if I can return it. It was a small store anyhow. I'll review it soon enough :)

I recently acquired a Miss Sixty leather jacket. The arms are huge which I don't find flattering. Sometimes I think I can make it work... I haven't found a way yet, haha. I

Loreal Million Lashes Mascara, Charlotte Russe shoes, and a new FAVE concealer!

Loreal recently came out with a new mascara that I lusted to try. After some internal debate about whether or not to get it... I decided to be bold and get it =P Maybe it's the pretty packaging? Or the sleekness of the design? I usually try to wait for reviews on mascaras before falling into the hype of the tacky mascara commercials. Turns out the models wear false lashes and/or have extensions or photoshop them in. I sorta knew that already, but I can't help but wish I had the voluptuous lash look as well =P

I didn't really like it too much. The mascara doesn't hold well nor has enough volume power in the formula to amp up my lashes. I also didn't like the brush either. I'm not a fan of the flexi-rubbery, stiff as hell lash brushes. They don't do anything for me except emphasize the straightness in my barely there lashes. I much prefer my brush to be made of soft bristles or the curved brushes that help bring the lashes up. What do you gals prefer? :)

And a new FAVORITE I've been using for weeks now. I finally found an HG concealer that I can vouch for. It TRULY truly works!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

The Maybelline Mineral Concealer :)
One of my good friends recommended this to me awhile ago, and I always meant to go get it when I went low on my supply of concealers. It went on sale at the drugstore, so I got it and I freaking LOVE it. It's better than all my Lancome, MAC and Elf ones combined.

Here's why!
The intensely creamy formula really packs a punch. I got the shade Ivory 2-3 and it really lightens dark circles and highlights your eyes. I REALLY love this product like there is no tomorrow. Texture is also really soft and not grainy. It's highly moisturizing and doesn't have a weird smell at all. I'm really happy that I finally found a concealer that really brightens and not just conceal. It's a 2 in 1 that's in a convenient tube thing you can take anywhere, much like the ELF one that I reviewed.

 After Work:

I started using Loreal's True Match blush Subtle Sable and you can really see the warmth on my face (and in the pictures). It's a really nice shade and I adore it!! :) Blushes usually wash out in pictures for me but this one seemed to be fine. It kind of faded after work but you can see the hint of it there. I think it oxidizes and blends into your skin to give you a flattering glow. I've seen other people wear the same shade and it always looks different on everyone. Maybe that's why it's called True Match? haha Who knows? =P It's good stuff!!

Remember I ordered shoes from Charlotte Russe?

My order came within a week. I also got the 10% off so my boots were $25 and the braided t-straps were $8! I just ordered two coats from them today and I hope to get them in the next week or so! :)

Alright all :) I hope you are all having a nice week so far. Goodnight! :)

Mini Outfit post... or lack thereof

For those of you who visit Charlotte Russe every once in awhile, they are having an additional 75% off the lowest ticketed item. I went inside the store the first time this year (LOL) because I saw the promotion posted outside of their store. Recently, I placed an order on some footwear from their store as well.

So because of the additional 75% off, not only did I get items at an insanely low price, (Most expensive item was $3.75!!) they had all sizes available.

Here's what I got. I am so sorry for the bad quality of the photos. I took the pictures at night and had to lighten them on Photoshop o_o

The Ruffled Top

Really soft, ruffly and comfortable. I was really happy for this purchase because I like ruffly stuff :)

Chiffon Floral Skirt

There are pockets in the front, and really cute buttons in the back. I was really drawn to the blue flowers. I guess it's kind of fall-ish. I could wear them with sheer stockings and booties. Maybe? :)

Chiffon Button Laced Skirt

You can hardly see the lace but it wraps around the skirt at the top.

Bohemian Pocket Skirt

Okay, Charlotte Russe comes up with very odd names for their pieces. The skirt has pockets but I didn't realize at the time I wore it backwards =p

Water Floral Skirt

Yup, I have a thing for floral prints if you haven't noticed already. This is probably my favorite of the bunch because I love the pink and green color combo :)

Mandarin Tiered Tunic

Do I look super Asian or what? =p I really like this top/tunic thing. It's super soft and clings loosely onto the body. It's a silk blend that's really lightweight and wearable. I haven't decided on how I would wear it out. Certainly not like the way it's pictured. I hate my awkwardly chubby arms.

And of course the makeup portion! :) This was taken on a random Friday morning.

Max Factor Stick Foundation, Revlon and other Ramblings

Hi everyone :) I've been out of town over the weekend and didn't get a chance to update or catch up on blogs. It's madness. I love reading blogs =P

Awhile ago, I mentioned that I wanted to try stick foundation because I wanted to use it for traveling or going out or if I feel I need something more than powder. I bought the Max Factor Pan Stik foundation to try. It's really inexpensive and has 14g of product in a portable to-go stick.

I really like it because of its creamy texture and semi dewy finish.  It's not a 100% match on me because I feel it's a little on the lighter side but it can be really great when you just need to touch up or use ti to conceal. It's like a huge concealer, I guess LOL :)

Coverage is about medium to heavy depending on how much you use. Overall, I really like this foundation a lot but the only thing that really disturbs me is the SMELL. It's really an off putting pharmaceutical smell that kind of lingers. It's such an awesome foundation but the smell is pretty intense. I'm not sure I'll stick with it for long just because of the smell, but I'll give it as much chances as I want. Some people I know love it so it's worth giving it the benefit of the doubt :) Max Factor was one of the first brands I ventured into when I was a high school student. They have discontinued their makeup in the US for unknown reasons, but they sell this foundation online. It's really inexpensive and works wonderfully like a concealer.

Revlon Eye Quad in Silver Fox

The Revlon eyeshadow is awesome! SUPER silky and feels like mineral eyeshadow. It's not outrageously pigmented but it's enough to give you a modest color. The colors are really true to life and it goes onto the skin without too much fallout. I really like it a lot and I can imagine lots of uses for it :) Definitely a go for me :) I love hoarding awesome eyeshadow palettes :) No mascara, or eye liner today... I felt super naked at work today but it's okay. It feels freeing in some sick way :)

Revlon

I recently picked up a few Revlon items from CVS. If you have their Care Card, you can scan coupons in the store. You just bring your little keychain card thing and scan it, (usually in the front entrance of the store) and out comes random coupons. So I scanned mine and received a $7 off any $15 Revlon purchase. On top of that, I had a $1 Revlon coupon that I found lying around in the store =D Here's what I got!

Revlon Nail Polish in Peach Petal
Revlon Matte Suede Polish in Ruby Ribbon
Revlon Matte Suede Polish in Powder Puff
Revlon Colorstay Eye Quad in Silver Fox

The eyeshadow colors are gorgeous in the pan. I was really attracted to the jewel-like colors in the palette. There is something about those colors that really enticed me into buying. The eyeshadows are really pretty, but it may be a little chalky for my taste. I haven't used it yet so I can't judge for sure. I'm really liking the colors though! :) The texture is really silky compared to a lot of my other eyeshadows, and the flecks of shimmery silver stuff (highlight color) is also really pretty. All 4 shades have shimmer in it, but  I will do a better review  on it after usage :)

This is the nail polish in Peach Petal. Isn't it such a pretty shade?!!? I know I'm super late in hoarding this polish since most bloggers are in love with it. You blogger gals are so infectious when it comes to loving something. I really like this shade a lot.. it's a very opaque milky pink color. It's not sheer at ALL and two coats should be more than enough. Not sure why I didn't get this earlier? I guess I couldn't justify the $3.99 price tag for one color... which is crazy in itself. But I guess I got a better deal now? :) I also got some matte shades so I'm pretty excited about trying them soon as well. I  have high hopes for Powder Puff... I really hope it turns out to be what I want it to be. If you go to the store, you can see it on Halle Berry's nails... LOL :) It should be an opaque pearly white frenchy color. I hope that's a vivid enough description.

So those are my most recent drugstore purchases. Anyone have a favorite Revlon product you'd like to share? :) Compell me!!
