Happy Halloween! + FOTD!

Hi lovelies! Hope you're all having a spectacular evening full of sweets and treats.

I just kind of wanted to check in and see how you all are doing. I had a lovely friend who helped me create a new template and layout for my boring ol' blog. I must say she did an awesome job. I finally added Disqus so I can reply to comments and things. Interaction! YAY!

One of my favorite bloggers, Laura from The Blog of worldly Delights has an Etsy store that i super duperly adore! I ordered a box of assorted bows and I've been really bowed out! LOL I think it's super girly and adds a whimsical little touch to any mood. I threw on a dark berry lipstick and sported a cat eye and went to work. Festive enough, I hope.

Today, I realize, is not only Halloween but the start of the holiday season. I'm both excited and not. I'm not looking forward to crowded traveling and full parking lots but I do, and seriously love, extended shopping hours and sweet deals. This year has gone by so fast and I'm quickly learning that the older you get, the faster the year passes. When I was a kid, the days were endless and all I kept wanting to do was to bask in delightful old books and drink lemonade. Now as an adult, I still want the same things but gosh does the time fly. And here's to another holiday season. Counting down the days until Thanksgiving.

Stay safe and don't be too crazy. Going to have a cozy night in to catch up on blogs and vlogs.
Those of you whose cities have been affected by Sandy, stay warm and safe! Happy Halloween!

A simple FOTD with Dali Chocolate Brown lenses

I'll go into a more in-depth review about circle lenses in another post but so far the experiences have been okay. I've been an avid contact lens wearer for nearly 8 or so years and I also wear glasses (duh) as well. I have very slight astigmatism so I don't really need specialty lenses (toric) as of now. I normally wear Bioinfinity soft lenses and I like them very much - nothing compares, truly.

And to add variety and interest to my arsenal, I ordered some natural looking circle lens to try out. I ordered the Dali Chocolate Brown lenses to try first since they were natural looking and the only 'color' aspect of it is is around limbal ring - clear inside.

Without Lenses

With the Dali  Sweet Chocolate Lenses

My experience so far with circle lenses is that they are quite comfortable to wear, but not for extended amounts of time. I don't have sensitive eyes or anything like that but I felt that my eyes were drier after 4 hours of wear time. They kind of feel tight and stick really hard to your iris o_o Other than not wearing it long, these circle lenses were comfortable to wear, and i couldn't "feel" it when i was going about my day.

Look-wise, I love the rounded shape. It's very feminine and girly to say the least! I do like the warm mysterious dark brown color a lot though! The enlargement is 14.2mm, whereas my normal daily contacts are 14.0mm, but it looks like a world of a difference though. In reality, it is not noticeable at all.

Overall, I do like these lenses and I would likely try more varieties. Possibly more dramatic ones? I've never really experimented with colored contacts before but now it seems I've learnt so much from bloggers and reviewers that I am curious to try different ones, in varying degrees of drama. And while circle lenses won't likely replace my regular contacts, they are certainly fun to wear and create looks with.

And my readers, have you or do you wear circle lenses regularly for certain looks/for fun?

Giveaway Wins....THANK YOU!

This past month I was really fortunate to win not one but two giveaways hosted by two really awesome bloggers!

Pretty =)

The original giveaway was for the scent atomizer but look at all the extras she included!

LOVING the polish on the left. I'm sporting it on my toes right now :) Can't wait to try the sparkly one. They;re both Nicole polishes... first time trying it :)

Lippies, Yes to Carrots lip butter! So excited!

I tried to capture the entire assortment of goodies.

From Some Sweet Little Dreams --------

So thin! and cute.

Thank you so much! All these products will go to good use and I do plan on wearing that blusher in the coming days.

I was out of town over the weekend and went to Vegas! I took the atomizer with me and it was really portable and handy, especially since my perfume of choice was too large to carry on.

And at the airport, I bumped into last year's American Idol singer Colton Dixon. Do you guys remember who he was? He made it to top 4. He was really gracious and friendly ^_^

How is your week going so far? Anything new? :)

Anastasia Want You to Want Me Palette

Got this palette in the mail a few weeks ago and I've been smitten with it for the transitioning weather. The amount of neutrals and smokey colors drew me in at first sight but it was the neutral plums that took it over the top.

Packaged so symmetrically

Beautiful velvet felt packaging and nice gold embellishments

Smokey neutrals, plums and taupes

Platform Wedge, Front Row Center, Ziggy

Members Only, Power Ballad, Jellies

Graphic T's, Brass in Pocket, Iron On

Beautiful smokey colors, aren't they? I'm really in love with Ziggy and Brass in Pocket - Both are just so warm and undeniably gorgeous! Members Only is a beautiful matte taupe color and blends in beautifully as a contour shade. Graphic T's is an enticing dark smokey taupe, with bits of grey and brown. Very earthy and wearable.

Liquid eyeliner - It's a very intense shiny black. I have yet to try this out but I'm really excited to in the coming days! I've always been a gel eyeliner type of gal but what's the worst that can happen! The tip of the eyeliner doesn't look too friendly but we shall see... o_o

Anastasia's famous clear brow gel! It's really a dream for pesky eye brows. Dries to a nice matte finish.

The double ended brush that the palette came with. A decent brush - nothing to complain or rave about.

All in all, this holiday palette seems to have its hits - particularly the pretty plums and purples. You could smoke it out, line it out, zing out your eye look in so many different ways. A hearty good quality palette to have for yourself or as a gift to a lucky person on the receiving end. I think this palette is very pretty and covers all the basics exceptionally well.

My dear readers, are you on the hunt for holiday palettes yet......? o_o

Essie's Ballet Slippers vs. Wet n' Wild's 2% Milk

Hello friends!

I am so excited to show you gals a recent find that I am crazy about! I know nail colors come in about a dime a dozen and dupes are literally everywhere. BUT, I recently got into nail color and I became obsessed with Essie's Ballet Slippers! It's such an elegant, glossy baby pink with the right amount of glossiness. An awesome My Nails but Better everyday color. I browsed around my local Walgreen's and a Wet n' Wild stand with nail colors on sale caught my attention. I noticed something similar to Ballet Slippers, called 2% Milk. HOW CUTE IS THAT? The name itself enticed me to keep it! :) For $1.99, I decided hey what the heck and brought it home with me.

Essie's Ballet Slippers and Wet N' Wild in 2% Milk

Wet n' Wild's 2% Milk - It's a milky nude shade that seems to be universally flattering. It's not exactly white, but more of a nude baby pink. Isn't it a pretty color? It took 2 coats of polish for this opacity. O_O

Essie's Ballet Slippers - A little more pinkier than 2% milk but it still has the same enamel shine that 2% Milk has. I think that's the main reason it stood out to me as a possible dupe.

What I liked about 2% Milk is the brush! It's a lot more easier to use because of the flat shape. The flat brush almost literally coats the entire nail in one stroke. It's seriously like a game changer for me. I own quite a few polishes but none have the flat brush. I can't even emphasize how much I love it! LOL

Hopefully you can see the brush well enough. I prefer the flat ones to the round ones because it's a lot more easier to apply and I get a cleaner application. It presses the polish onto the surface of my nail flat so doesn't create a buildup of excess nail color on my nail. I'm pretty sure I've gone to the deep end of explaining this and nail pros would probably laugh at the absurdity of my statement ;)

Nonetheless, I am raving about it -  The gorgeous shade, the awesome brush and the price! I am very happily enjoying this color now. 2% Milk is a very timeless color and exudes wedding elegance. One of the best purchases this year, frealz.

Have you ever tried Wet n' Wild nail colors? Are flat brushes very common in other brands? Let me know what you all think! :)
