Silver Lining

I have been blessed that the weather is not sweltering here. It's been in the mid to upper 70s pretty much up to now with the occasional heat wave on any given afternoon. Other than that, I am loving the outdoors. In fact, I have plans lined up next weekend to go hiking and biking in Muir Woods and some state parks around the area. Pretty  much all along the Mill Valley area, north of SF. I'm a pretty outdoorsy gal... I went to college in Santa Cruz where I pretty much hiked on a daily basis. Anyway, I can't wait for next weekend!

In other news, I also paid off my student loan! I'm so excited. I never thought I'd ever be able to do it, but I did. I paid off both of them this past week! It was a little over 10k and I'm amazed at my determination to pay it off 1 yr after I graduated! Must start saving pronto. At least now I won't have to worry about interest rates and stupid things like that :)

Anyway! Here is a look that I created a few days ago that I used during the day and well into the night.

What I used:

My Prescriptives palette and the Physician's Formula smokey palette. I used the very copper eyeshadow on the 2nd row next to the green and the very first silvery shadow in the Physician's Formula for lining the inner waterline. I used MAC gel liner to line the eyes on the top and bottom... and the silver is supposed to be the contrasting color. I'm going to review all my Physician's Formula palettes in the next post. Somehow I've accumulated all the colors in the Shimmer Strips line =p

Swatch of the Maybelline blush in Peach Satin :) I love this color! :)

That's amazing about getting the student loans paid off so quickly--and I'm speechless that saving is your next priority. Your blog should be required reading so you could influence others to get out of debt.

The temperature has been nasty in DC lately, today we had a heat index of 110. I ran my errands early this morning, but it was already very warm.

Hope you have a great time next weekend.

OMG i can't believe you paid off your loans in 1 year. Congrats! That is some determination there.

I love it hot...my ideal temp would be 78-85...heehee. I'm living in the wrong place huh? I really like SJ weather. It was perfect when we had our meet up.

I like the 2nd palette with the cool colors. They are really pretty.

It's a little cooler over here in the UK, but I don't mind. I don't like the heat too much.

Congrats on paying off your student loans.
I'm an outdoor gal myself. When I was living in the bay area I used to love going hiking in all the nearby state parks, including the ones in Berkeley, such as Inspiration Point. I like going to Muir Woods...just don't like the drive there heh...I can get car sick going around those step mts. and narrow roads.

OMG good job on your student loan!! Wish I could do that, but it's hard with the insane rent I pay >__<

I love Muir Woods! Hiked there a lot as a child! There's something special about crossing the Golden Gate.. north bay is very charming and so different from the rest of the bay area!

wow! congratulations on being able to pay off your student loan! i recently read about that being the no.1 problem with students who recently graduated...it's indeed a big dilemma.

the mix of the bronze and silver doesn't sound too good but you pulled it off really well! yes, we can mix metals! the look is just amazing...

Congrats on paying off the student loan! I know that is a HUGE feat in itself.
Like the look, the shimmering bottom lid is my favorite part. I wish I could pull that look off, I just look like an alien when I do it.
Weather in the 70's eh? Want to trade for some 55* foggy San Francisco weather? LOL

OMG!! CONGRATS ON PAYING OFF YOUR LOAN!!
You must feel soo good to have that off your shoulders.

I really love the white shadow you used on your bottom waterline. It gives your eyes that extra pop.
Looks like someone has been practicing her face photos. IT looks like you're giving a sexy look away stare to the side in your photos. Seductive. =X
