Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful 2012. I certainly did, and I've been extremely grateful to have what I have, no matter how big or small. I am also very thankful for all the readers on this blog, all the unique friends I've made, and all the opportunities I've gotten in 2012. I've been blogging for close to three years now and it's still as fun for me as it was on day 1.

I'm really excited to post my first review of the year - the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer :D

I originally wanted the Clinique Airbrush Concealer after seeing it being a favorite of Lisa Eldridge but during a shopping trip, I spontaneously picked this up at Target. This one looks very similar to the airbrush concealer and dispenses the product in the same click motion as the Clinique one.

I picked up the shade in RADIANT, which is not really a concealer but a highlighter. It has light diffusing pigments to brighten any contours of your face. I LOVED that idea. Concealers are tricky things because you need one that works with your skin tone but a brightening tool like a highlighter works in a variety of ways, multitasking and useful.

Instantly brighter eyes. Honestly I love this highligher! I've been using it since the beginning of December and I've been loving how pretty the effect is for a mere $6.00 or so. This one is much better than the Milani HD concealer that I've had. This one is much more luminous and draws in light.

Overall, I love it! I like twisting it instead of clicking it like a pen. The brush is soft too =D

Do you like pen and/or highlighting concealers? :)

I have this, it does highlighting well, but as a concealer is doesn't do enough for me.

I love highlighters like these, but I haven't tried this one yet! I've seen this in so many 2012 favorites posts/videos!

I keep on hearing/seeing really great things about this one, I'm almost afraid? Because I have giant panda eyes lol...maybe it's time for me to finally try it out. :D

I have been wanting to check this one out!  I recently bought a similar product, the Loreal Magic Lumi concealer pen and I do not like it much.  It did not really conceal, nor highlight anything :/  So I am excited to try out the Maybelline pen!

Happy New Year hun!!

This really does instantly brighten your under eye area! I am actually looking for a concealer that brightens as well as conceals - similar to what they say about the Touche Eclat (although I haven't actually tried it). Does this settle in lines hun?

Nice demonstration! it really brightens up naturally~ I'm currently using Garnier underye roll on but I noticed that it creases, does this crease too?

I just bought the Clinique one, but I'll definitely keep this in mind when I run out! I like concealer pens/sticks way better than concealers in pots/tubes. It's just less messy and easier to use!

I too had a great 2012, lots of ups and downs but in the end an amazing year. i'm grateful for blogging, I've only been on this for a year and a half but its been amazing. I think the concealer really does light up and even out the bit of darkness under your eyes! I just use a more orangey bb cream under my eyes, I've yet to try a brightening under eye concealer!

Nice! I've often wondered about this one as it looks like a cheaper YSL Touche Eclat! Next time I see it on sale I think I'll pick one up!

I love pen highlighters! They are so much easier to control and i feel more hygienic compared to pot concealers.

The lumi looks great on you, like you said, instant bright eyes!

Thanks for the review Jen! I've heard so many good things about this concealer/highlighter but seeing in action just makes me want to actually get it myelf! They're hard to come by in Canada, but I'm sure if I wait a little longer, it'll pop up somewhere!

I hope they pop up in Canada! =D

Thanks Kat!

Hmm, I've never tried the Garnier roller thing so I can't compare but I havent noticed any significant creases with the Lumi :)

Rainy Days & Lattes said...

It's mostly a highlighting pen I think and it hasn't settled into any of my eye lines yet ;)

Rainy Days & Lattes said...

Ooh, I've seen a myriad of pens but I've only tried this one. Let us know how it compares =D

Rainy Days & Lattes said...

Yeah! When you do, it'll be great to see your review!

Happy new year! I love this product. It has that amazing "wake me up" effect... I like the Maybelline twist up sponge concealer/highlighter in Fair, too. This one has some coverage if you need it, but the lumi is more of a highlighter. Drugstore highlighting concealers are now so good, I don't see the point in investing in a high end one.

Happy new year!! (8 days later.. lol) It's been a while! :) Thank you for the review, I've been looking for a pen concealer that is easy to use to put in my purse.

I hope you had a great holiday!

That looks really good. I've never tried a highlighter before and am intrigued.

!!!! I need this in my life. I just recently noticed dark circles developing under my eyes, and I don't use concealers, so I've been stressing a little about what to do.

This looks great, especially as it's so affordable. I'm definitely going to have to pick this up as I could do with brighter eyes. x
