Who are your favorite beauty gurus?

I spent nearly all weekend (evening) watching tutorials and makeup videos from Lisa Eldridge. Ever since I posted my review for the Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation, many readers commented on how they were inspired to get the foundation because of Lisa Eldridge. Little did I know she's a renowned makeup artist for many celebrities. I did a quick google search on her and I have been hooked. How amazing is she?!

I love her personality, her views on making up and she is all around gorgeous! I read somewhere she is 42 years of age. I thought she was in her twenties!

My dear readers, who are your favorite gurus? Any recommendations? Do share! ^_^

I really enjoy watching blushingpixie - she seems down to earth and straight to the point.

I love Lisa Eldridge as well! Jen from From Head to Toe is one of my favorites. She's done so many tutorials that I don't have to adapt to try on myself, because we both have monolids :)

Lisa is quite big in the UK as a MUA! I love her videos and she does look fantastic for her age :) My favourite gurus are probably all the popular ones haha - xteeener, stylesuzi and hollyannaeree.

When she posts a video I'll drop everything and watch. I also really like Wayne Goss -- he's so matter of fact and quick on his delivery.

Ya, Lisa Eldridge is so gorgeous! I love her clean, precise and very modern style of make up.

Hmm... I can't really think of any beauty guru that I'm totally mad about these days...

I Love Lisa Eldridge too!! I love her appreciation of history of makeup and the collection of vintage cosmetics cases all in their pristine conditions... and the Marilyn Monroe tutorial.. She's inspirational, truly :)

Pixiwoo are the other two I like and many others!
Roseanne Tang (roseannetangrs) is another one :)

I love Lisa Eldridge!

Jung Saem Mool (YT: jungsaemmool) is another fave that you should check out if you haven't already. She's also a professional makeup artist like Lisa but based in Korea. There's no speaking in her videos but her techniques are easy to follow and particularly great if you're looking for makeup tutorials for Asian features. If you wait a few days/weeks, she does eventually add English subs to her videos so they're even easier to follow.

I also like BeautyQQ (a.k.a. Queenie Chan). Her videos are kind of a mishmash. Partly inspirational and artsy and a little funny mixed with some DIY skincare and makeup tips. She's Chinese and based in Hong Kong. Sometimes she speaks in Cantonese, sometimes in Mandarin with some English thrown in. Her vids are usually English subbed for her international viewers though.

I tend to like Asian gurus and You Tubers since we have similar features and other YT channels I enjoy include Frmheadtotoe, Beautifymeeh, Fuzkittie, ChiChiYaz, EricaWeng, and cl2425. Manwomanfilm is another great channel...not necessarily for wearable looks but creative transformations. Oh, and check out Suelynn76's channel -- she's compiled lots of step-by-step makeup tutorials from scans of popular Asian magazines.

I love watching Lisa Eldridge and Pixiwoo, their looks are amazing! I also like watching ItsJudyTime/ItsJudysLife because her and her husband are just so cute together :P

You know, I've seen her name being mentioned on a lot of blogs and websites, but I've never seen one of her videos before. She has some really great tutorials though, now that I've taken a look. What I want to learn is her beauty secret for looking so young though! She does NOT look 42 at all!

what a coincidence! Lisa Eldridge is also my no.1 favorite beauty guru/ makeup artist. I just love her videos. they're very easy to follow and I like how she talks and how she explains every detail to the makeup stuff she uses.

Honestly, I think she's good. BUT, she's not my fave though. Many of her techniques doesn't seem to apply to me--or when I try it, it doesn't suit me.

Right now, my favorite is Wayne Goss. His advice(s) are really useful for me. Maybe because he had the same oily skin as I do and because he does makeup for really older women.

I'd like to think I'm not yet old :P But I have very hooded eyes and my cheek bones are not high up--so most of his tips really apply to me.

Rae: A lot of her makeup techniques don't apply to me either! Everything seems very seamless for her and it's hard for me to dupe her looks because I don't have most of her features. I like Wayne Goss too! I started watching his vids the other day :D Thanks for the rec!

I love Lisa Eldridge too! Even though I can't use most of her techniques, I still like watching her vids on her thoughts on the products she uses...& her anti-ageing tips videos are pretty good...they were made quite some time ago. I watch most of the gurus mentioned in the comments section, but would like to add that I enjoy Fleur De Force. She's bubbly, smart, down-to-earth, and hauls a lot...!
