Stila Rose Gold Highlighter

I realized how much love I am not giving to my highlighters these days! I endlessly (and shamelessly) collect them. I recall Stila's Rose Gold being one of my most adored ones because of the simple and cute packaging and the baked pan.

This is more of a finishing powder but I kind of see it more like a highlighter because of the shimmer in it. And Rose Gold is very fitting for V-day! - the subtle glow, the romantic color (rose and gold is the loveliest combo ever! Am I right?) - absolutely perfect for a night out in town.

Rose Gold is a bit like a champagne shade with hints of gold and peach and swirls of a courser gold color running through its veins. Gorgeous! A fan brush is the perfect brush to sweep this around your cheekbones.

Many people online do not like this particular product from Stila and it's a shame because I found it to be really nice. Not as a finishing powder of course (what the hell were they thinking?!) but as a highlight, it is more than pretty! Texture-wise, it's not as soft as MAC MSF's but the shimmers here are less prevalent and much more sophisticated.

What are your go-to highlighter(s)? :)

Disclaimer: Bought this myself!

Still using mostly my Becca Pressed Shimmer Powders and Mac MSF Soft and Gentle. I really like the look of Stila rose gold powder, I think it looks good on warmer skin tones

i've always loved highlighters in stores but can't bring myself to bring them home as i've oily skin and they make me look oily. :(

Rose Gold looks more gold than rosy but warm highlighters look so much natural and gorge imo! great thing it worked for you! i suppose we really should try products before we ourselves judge them. ;)

That is really pretty! I like how subtle it is.

I don't really use highlighters much but if I do, then the one that I tend to reach for is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade.

Looks nice although a tad bit browner than I'd like to use. I'm using theBalm's Mary-loumanizer! Amazing amazing highlight and it can help soften over done blush too! :)

I haven't used highlighters due to my acne scarring. But with your gorgeous skin, i can just imagine how Rose Gold finishes beautifully on you!

I like the name! :) My favorite highlighter would have to be MAC MSF in Shimpagne. :)

I cannot imagine that as a finishing powder, no wonder a lot of people don't like it!

As a highlight/blush, I can imagine it being very pretty! :)

I think it shares a name with Sleek's rose gold! But this one looks a great deal more gold than rose!

I'm obsessed with Rose Gold at the minute and super glad that we now have Stila back in the UK, I'll be sure to pick this baby up on payday! xo

My favorite highlights are definitely my Dior Amber Diamond and my Flormar in 43~

I like mac moonriver (too sheer for a blush) for that purpose but I drown it a few months ago while I was handwashing my sheet...Now I just use benefit dandelion with gives me a little tiny of coverage, some color and a bit of glow.

I can see how it's particularly flattering on Asian skintone (or those with warm undertone in general)! My current go-to is Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick in Bronze. In combination with the right brush it gives a very subtle and credible glow :)

This looks like a really nice highlighter, I love the gold ones best, more suitable for medium skin tones. My favourite at the moment is both my Laura Mercier Rose Rendezvous and Guerlain Cruel Gardenia.

It looks so pretty for a highlight, but I agree NOT for a powder!

I find myself collecting highlighters too!

Cuteee highlighter! hahaha I actually dont have any highlighters so I wouldnt know which ones are good and stuff like that. tehehe I got too many sun spots on my face that anything glossy, shimmery, dewy, will just make my face look like a big mess. So i try to just keep it simple.

You know what's funny? I own a lot of highlighting powders, but I always end up using a shimmery eyeshadow to highlight my face lol.

I agree! This seems a bit much for a finishing powder but it looks awesome as highlighter! :D

So purty~
I am the same as you but with blushes. I collected a bunch of them and I don't have enough cheeks to use them -_-"

it looks really nice against your skin tone! I personally like highlighters with pink undertones simply because they complement my complexion better ^_^

RE: hehe thanks =D and actually it wasn't my bday XD I just happened to be browsing my old pictures =P but thanks for asking ^_^

I agree that this would work very well as a highlighter and not as a finishing powder. Who would want shimmer all over their faces? I like how the shimmer is very subtle :)

I'm not good at using highlighters, but I love how glamorous they look on other people!

i don't get the whole illuminating powder thing for the whole face o_o. but it's good that you found another use for it where it works for you! :D.

This highlighter is so pretty! I don't really use a highlighter that often but I know it will look good on you:)

omgosh this champagney gold color is SOOO pretty! i can only imagine how gorgeous this is on asian skin tone!! so so pretty!

so i actually own this and another bronze colored one in this exact design but i'm not a big fan of it...i just feel like the texture is too hard and the shimmers too obvious for it to be a natural, dewy, glow highlighter. plus the packaging has fallen apart and i've had to superglue it back.
