Flickr vs. Blogger

DSCN1120 by samebrightsky

Flickr (above)
and Blogger (below)

The difference is crazy!! Can you believe it? Flickr uploads my photos in true to camera quality while Blogger makes my photos look really bad. Wow. Have you guys noticed this before?!? Every time I blog, I'm always thinking to myself, I swear my photos don't look THAT bad on my computer! -_- I'm switching over to Flickr now just for that fact. I hate that my pictures are getting dulled down :( Boo. I'm testing Photobucket as well. Thanks for all your tweets! ^_~ I looked into different photo hosting sites and it makes a big difference.
One of my many blogging lessons learned! =p

Here is more pictures of my haircut!

yeah I always bump up the contrast and the saturation (in photoshop) beforehand for this reason... such a pain in the butt! your hair is super cute btw :)

Haha the timing of your post is perfect, I too was questioning the quality of pictures through the blogger uploader!

Also, nice haircut :)

I was wondering why some of your photos look so blurred. Ugh, dislike blogger, glad I've moved to wordpress XD

I wonder why blogger does that ><

Thanks for sharing this! :)

OMG I'm switching to Flickr now!!
I had been using Photobucket this whole time because Blogger really isn't good but now I see Flickr is BEST.
Thanks for enlightening :D

Yeah I hate that Blogger does that but it is because they generate re-sized versions of the photos you upload. They then use the re-sized version in your posts. To limit this I make sure the full size photo is the source and then I change the width/height by hand. Erase the s400/ or s320/ or whatever s###/ is there.

I would still prefer Flickr but the C&P is too much effort for me.
Nice haircut!

Whaaattt... Are you serious?! But Blogger is convenient as it's all in one window. Does Flickr have a max upload? Can I upload on flickr then use it on Blogger by linking it? lol

Btw, better don't use Photobucket as they have this bandwidth limit. They'll remove your pic =(

I never knew that! And I just made the decision to switch all personal photos to blogger and random photos to flickr. I might have to reconsider that but I'm just iffy about Flickr's privacy because you can't completely stop ppl from finding your photos (or can you). I only have mine unlisted but that means there's still a chance where people not reading my blog can stumble upon it. Not sure.

I love Flickr but it's always telling me I'm going over the limit soon so I end up uploading on blogger since I have a lot of space there! But I agree, the quality is SO much better on flickr!

I didn't notice that until you mentioned it! I might have to move over to flickr now instead of uploading it straight onto blogger, but it sounds like so much more effort, and I'm lazy haha XD Thanks for mentioning it though! Xx

That's weird, I actually never noticed that.. I'm pretty picky about my photos too, but I always thought they looked fine when I uploaded them. I always make them clickable to a full-sized png and I never noticed any differences, but now I'm suspicious! :(

Your hair looks super cute, btw! <3

Isabel: Flickr has a 300mb photo capacity monthly. I'm not sure how much photos this translate to, but i think it's pretty good. I uploaded 5 photos and it's at 1% :p In the long run, most photo hosting sites would want you to pay and go "pro".

Haha, I never upload my photos on Blogger. They screw up the quality big time!

But man.. I love your new hair! *_* and your skin! WOAH so flawless! >_<"

Wow! I never realized how much of a difference there is in quality! No wonder blogger photos are always slightly grainy! Thanks for sharing this info. By the way, you look gorgeous!

your hair is so straight and thick! it looks so soft too ;)

Wow Flicker looks way better!!! I use photobucket and I think it's pretty good and my photos are still the same quality.

Wow the difference is remarkable! You have to be careful though because Flickr has removed a lot of content from bloggers who use them to host photos. That's why I've been wary about swtiching over to them.

Btw, I love your hair!

omg, i had never noticed the difference. i'm actually shocked there's such a huge difference. blogger makes uploading and posting pictures soo easy though :(! i think i'll have to start using flickr too. sometimes i use photobucket, but not often.

Hi Jen! Whoa, the difference between flickr and blogger is so visible!

I love love love your pink flush, Jen! So cute and natural, and your skin looks amazing! <3

Thanks for sharing this. Now I'll definitely use Flicker!

Ahhh I knew it wasn't just in my head! I was wondering why my photos always looked so grainy when I uploaded to blogger. They look fine when you click into it to enlarge it, but otherwise they look really dull. Thanks for sharing the comparison - I'm going to start using a photo hosting site from now on too -.-
