For the Love of Bourjois!

My early introduction to Bourjois was their lovely blushers that were displayed beautifully at Sephora. I had always wanted to try their makeup but at the time I was a student on a budget. A little while later I heard they discontinued their entire line at Sephora and Ulta so I was saddened by the fact. But... thanks to makeup communities and swappers and a plethora of online shops, it isn't that hard to get what you want even if it's discontinued. It's a little inconvenient, yes, but you get it all the same. After seeing many bloggers' monthly favorites, I discovered Bourjois again! This time the Delice de Pourdre bronzer, or rather, the chocolate bronzer!

It is a matte bronzing powder that has a really soft texture and a nice subtle color for those with lighter skin tones.

Isn't it a delicious looking bronzer? It's known as the chocolate bronzing powder because of the little squares that are reminiscent of candy bars. I love the design so hard. It's so cute and whimsy, not at all serious. I got this in shade 51 which is the lighter one of the two (52 is a tad darker) and I really love it. I like the "lift" that it gives without the theatrics of shimmers, sparkles and glitter. I don't like looking overly bronzed because it looks unnatural and you know the lighting in the office emphasizes stuff like that. I love shimmers a lot, possibly more than the average person, but it can be distracting in a professional setting.

That's why I've been loving this Bourjois one. To me, it's a real fool proof non-desperate bronzer that I can really count on at the moment for lifting my face and also emitting a nice healthy glow.

I still love my Dior Amber Diamond just as equally! I just love hoarding blushers, bronzers, highlighters... any kind of cheek makeup. Another thing I like about this powder is that it's inexpensive unlike the Dior counterpart. It's a quality matte bronzer that under $15.00 and can be found on many online stores. Definitely a thumbs up on this discovery!

Do you have a favorite bronzing powder or bronzer at the moment? :)

I've seen this powder around a lot on blogs! It looks really lovely.
I still haven't really been able to jump into the bronzer bandwagon...I want to, but every time I try, it comes out looking very muddy/dirty!

I've heard so many good things about the Bourjois bronzer. I've been on the lookout for a matte one that isn't too dark. May have to inspect this one closer next time I visit a Bourjois stand. That's too bad it's been discontinued! It's still available here, albeit horribly overpriced, but at least we can see and try out the products still. And it does look like a chocolate bar, hope people aren't tempted to eat their bronzer :p

Its a pity that Bourjois is not more readily available in the US. And then it's equally annoying that certain US brands are not available in Europe. Probably on my next trip the the UK, I will take a look at Bourjois once again.

oh, I didn't know they have a Bronzer.

Bourjois is not common brand here too. I can only find a counters is selected drugstores.

But I am growing to like the brand a lot!

I don't have the habit of using Bronzer, so when I want to contour a bit, I will use a darker blush. Currently am using Bourjois Sculpture Effect Blush.

I just bought the Benefit Hoola Bronzer though, but haven't try it.

Sounds like a wonderful bronzer, thanks for sharing your review with us! Sadly I don't use much cheek products, so... no favourites.

I keep hearing great things about this one, but I have enough bronzers already! At the moment my favorite is Givenchy Ambre Croisiere. It's SOOOOOOO incredibly fine, lightweight, and just pigmented enough (so that you don't have to pile it on, but nor do you risk looking like a carrot too soon). I wonder when I'll manage to erase the pattern on it, but at the rate I'm going it's probably soon!

This chocolate bronzer is quite the legend. Right now I am using MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Dark as my go to bronzer, but I also like elf's blush and bronzer duo which also has a matte bronzer at a mere $3...

I've been wanting to get my hands on the Bourjois products for the longest time! I just find it very expensive in Australia so I'll have to wait until ASOS has these again! :D x

Pity Bourjois isn't available in the States, it's one of my favourite drugstore brands. I haven't tried their chocolate bronzer yet but I always hear praises for it - must be good! xx

I love bronzers and blushers too, can't get enough of them:) I just picked up another Rimmel bronzer since there is a BOGO at 50% at Walgreen. They are decent for the price.

I love Bourjois =)
Unfortunately I don't have many bronzers in my collection as I don't think it's a great look on me. I love hoarding blushes and highlighters too =D
