BB Cream

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone's mid week is going smooth. The only mere excitement I get is going somewhere for dinner. I haven't had much of a life lately ever since I took the new position at work =p I look forward to nice dinners around town 2x a week, and hanging out at home with a nice glass of wine and literature. Yesterday I was talking to a friend who said that I was kind of boring compared to the days that I was a student. I felt kind of sad at her remark...I definitely wasn't overjoyed to hear something like that. I guess I was being too sensitive? I don't know. I find that stability is a great thing when you're learning to establish yourself. By nature, I am not into partying dangerously or clubbing but her remark made me a little self conscious because her tone was belittling and matter of fact. I'm not sure how I was supposed to react. Initially I just laughed it all and didn't say much else, because what am I supposed to say right?

Anyway, enough of that.

I was curious about BB creams for months and months before I finally tried one. Luckily, I bought one from a fellow blogger and it was as great as I expected it to be and even more!! =p I really REALLY love this thing. Seriously, I don't think I've ever raved about a cream like this before.
It is the pink tube in the center. L'egere Waterdrop BB Cream. (I also used the Essense of Beauty heated eyelash curler, and the Ulta mineral eyeshadow palette. Reviews coming up!)

When I first squeezed a little from the tube, it was a little darker than my skin but it claims to adapt to your skin tone after it's applied. It's very lightweight and very wet. Definitely a water based product, hence the name Waterdrop. I really liked the formula... it's very much like a tinted moisturizer or even wet setting powder. LOL Again, very lightweight cream that (surprisingly) gives amazing coverage. I can't compare this to any other BB creams out there because this is the first one I've ever tried and I really love it so far. It can easily become an HG product simply because i like how it is in a tube and how portable it is. The cream has little specks of glitter in it. Once you blend it in your face, you look 10x more brighter. The good thing is that you don't literally see the sparkles unless you really speculate your skin in the light. The subtle sheen gives an inwardly luminance that makes your face refined and polished.I normally have combination skin that leans closer toward the oilier side and I did not see this product making me prone to more oil or dryness. It's absolutely wonderful. The only concern I have for it is that it doesn't state how much SPF it has in it even though it says it gives your protection from the sun.

I REALLY want to try the Missha and the Skin 79 one. After I finish this one, I'll try to find another one. New obsession =p Any recommendations? :)

I feel like I look so bland today! But you can see the little reflectors in the BB cream. I just love these Asian products because they almost always work so well for me. I am so tempted to make an order at Sasa.com.

Alrighty... time for bed now. Goodnight all! =D Going to wake up early to take pictures in better lighting.

Ahhh I have Dr Jarts BB cream. A Korean friend of mine swore by it. Missha products didn't work for her. I don't come across too many Missa products so I've never bothered. This little Korean shop I go to in Japantown carries a good variety of Dr. Jarts so that is the only brand I have tried and so far - so good!

On a more serious and personal note... I used to be a wild child hardcore party going gal with non-stop drinking. One day, I woke up and realized how miserable I was (uhh, and how WRETCHED my body felt) and that there is more to life. Time goes on and I find myself going out less less with my nose buried in a book (or a blog) more and more. It only means one thing - i've matured. A friend I used to always drink & party with posts on facebook CONSTANTLY about how she's drunk, hungover, starving, thirsty, hungover, drunk somewhere, hungover somewhere, you catch my drift? It's pathetic. I mean this may not be the case with your friend but what i'm getting at is this: I look at my life and find it so much more colorful because i've SLOWED DOWN to actually enjoy it. How is one truly living if in a perpetual state of intoxication?
The thing that people don't realize about partying and what not is that the party scene will ALWAYS be there. You can leave it and always come back.. you'll find the same people there, doing the It's sad when we grow up and see that others haven't. There is nothing wrong with staying in and enjoying a good ole glass of wine. Clubbing is overrated and at one point or another, people grow out of it. Oh, and for those that DON'T grow out of it?? They are pariahs at the clubs because eventually, they become "too old to be there" LOL catch my drift?
You weren't being too sensitive honey. You are entitled to feeling the way you do - you were basically insulted.
Oh, and you're not boring. Hello, you have a blog and readers! Obviously we find SOMETHING interesting about you right? ;] Keep your head up.

Wow, the BB cream looks really great on you. you look very radiant. Hope your friend's comment didn't get you too down. I would never call anyone boring, let alone a friend! I know I've definately changed since being a student, but I'm much happier now. I'm more confident and have a more stable life now too. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters!

I'm really curious about BB cream as well, but I feel like it takes so much time to apply liquid foundations! It is intriguing though how you mentioned it's so liquidy yet provides ample coverage. Did you apply it with fingers or a brush?

Nice review! I've always wondered about BB creams, but I don't wear foundation so I've never tried it. It sounds really great and it looks great on your skin too. =] Yea, I'm just like you where I can be content just staying at home by finding something to do. I'm boring too. lol I don't think you should take your friend's comment to heart. Everyone is different and if you feel comfortable and fine doing what you are doing then I find it shouldn't really matter what other people think as long as you are happy.

Oooh a watery bb cream! I'll keep this one on my "to buy" list :)

As for being called "boring" ~ I'm at the age where clubbing and such is not the thing to do every weekend, lol. Let me ask you, what does "boring" mean? Does boring mean you don't like to skank yourself out, put on tons of makeup, get drunk at clubs, and crave guy's attention and stares? LOL. Well, that's what I feel that some younger girls feel is "fun" and the thing to do on their Fridays and Saturdays.

I'm 26, and to me, "fun" means going out with my best girlfriends to chat about life and laugh about silly stuff and have a couple of cocktails. Or "fun" is having a blogger meetup and shopping for 6 hours straight! Perhaps you and your gf just have different definitions for what is considered fun/boring.

I used to want to fit into the mold of that so-called "fun" girl and feel lame if I wasn't always out or doing something "cool". Thankfully, I've matured out of that and I'm comfortable enough in my skin that I can be alone at home on a Friday night with a glass of wine and DVD and NOT feel lame or boring :)

I 2nd everything Susy said too btw :)

Hope you don't feel so sad Jen, and seriously, we are going to have a SUPER FUN time at the south bay meetup!!!!

Hey Rainy! I'm happy to know that the BB cream worked for you! I had the Missha Perfect Cover one and it gave me a nice coverage & all but I developed a rash from it.. Uggh =_=' If you don't have sensitive skin I suggest you try it =)

As for the "boring-ness", everyone is different and has their way of "having fun". Don't be sad! People grow up and there's thing that as a student it sounds fun but after at a certain age, it's just not appropriate anymore. I mean you discover new things and interest and you have to evolve. I'm 19 and people of my age always tell me that I'm boring because I don't go out clubbing and drinking my ass off. It's just a matter of taste. I'm not a party animal too, I went to the club once and honestly, it was a great experience but I wouldn't go there each weekend. I think the most fun part of it is getting ready XD (You know make-up..dressing up.. hahaha) I'm more the type to take a walk in the old port, go out dinner and stuff like that. My best friend IS a party animal and a heavy drinker but she never told me that I was boring. She respects me as I am and when she wants to have a calm night, she knows who to find. ;)

I absolutely dig your words, and totally agree with what susy and sophia said above. Although I'm only 22 and I'm supposed to enjoy clubbing and all, I actually don't to be honest. A lot of my friends still find it very fun, and oftentimes, I feel obligated to go just because I feel like I might be missing the "fun" but every time, I end up with a sore body, a huge hangover, less money in the pocket, and not that much fun at all. I have grown to just be comfortable in my own skin and do whatever I want to do. Of course, there are still times that I will decide to go out, but I know my limits now and work within it. Thanks for sharing your feelings :)

Ooh yeah I really love BB cream too! It's so easy to use and great for mornings when you're rushed^^ I think I have the original L'egere BB Cream but I wish it had more SPF! Your skin looks amazing with it :)

Haha I'm very much like you... I love staying home at night and doing whatever and also think going out to eat is very exciting LOL. My friends are like your friend...they think I'm "boring" too..Don't take your friend's comment too seriously =]

Anyway, I loveeeee Missha. It was my first BB cream and I tried two other ones (Lioele and IOPE) that were suppose to be "better". But I always go back to using my Missha perfect cover :) It's SPF 42 and PA+++ which is awesome because my face is allergic to like everything with SPF in it T_T. (So I can't use any SPF moisturizers at all T_T)I use the BB boomer (which I also LOVE and cannot live without) as a primer so I don't break out from the SPF while being able to get sun protection (which I'm very anal about)

For me the Missha looks great on my skin (I've gotten a quite a few compliments) It's quite a er "controversial"(for lack of a better word) BB cream.. some love it and others really hate it.

Ah sorry for like writing a novel of a comment.. your skin looks awesome :)

Personally, I don't think I'd mind being called boring. I'm not the type of person to party and be reckless like that. Many people say college is the best time to be free and do whatever you want to do without consequences, but I've been a pretty serious relationship for some time and I wouldn't enjoy the idea of some of boy freedom even if I was single.

We're not all meant to live at that level of excitment for the rest of our lives; as far as I'm concerned if you're considered "boring" it's just a synonym for responsible, and being responsible was never a bad thing.

awww if it makes you feel better i'm just like you! i enjoy dinners way more than partying! i love the odd celebrations where i get to dance and drink cocktails with my friends but i always end up with a sore throat from scream/talking the previous night because i usually speak in a pretty soft voice :P along with major sleepiness :P i am probably the symbol of "boring" haha because i love dinners, staying at home watching movies, and shopping! and…i don't even really have a hobby other than blogging (is that sad?) but i also realize that people change, i think every one of my close friends have changed and i don't even know if i call them close friends anymore, i had to let go of that vision i once had of them…i always secretly wish i had a group of really close friends like sex and the city! lol on another note! too bad we can't hang out and have dinners and go shopping together!

anyways! i still haven't jumped onto the BB cream bandwagon yet, there's just TOO many to choose from! and a lot of them are super fair in colour? although it doesn't seem that way on you!
