Max Factor Stick Foundation, Revlon and other Ramblings
Hi everyone :) I've been out of town over the weekend and didn't get a chance to update or catch up on blogs. It's madness. I love reading blogs =P
Awhile ago, I mentioned that I wanted to try stick foundation because I wanted to use it for traveling or going out or if I feel I need something more than powder. I bought the Max Factor Pan Stik foundation to try. It's really inexpensive and has 14g of product in a portable to-go stick.
I really like it because of its creamy texture and semi dewy finish. It's not a 100% match on me because I feel it's a little on the lighter side but it can be really great when you just need to touch up or use ti to conceal. It's like a huge concealer, I guess LOL :)
Coverage is about medium to heavy depending on how much you use. Overall, I really like this foundation a lot but the only thing that really disturbs me is the SMELL. It's really an off putting pharmaceutical smell that kind of lingers. It's such an awesome foundation but the smell is pretty intense. I'm not sure I'll stick with it for long just because of the smell, but I'll give it as much chances as I want. Some people I know love it so it's worth giving it the benefit of the doubt :) Max Factor was one of the first brands I ventured into when I was a high school student. They have discontinued their makeup in the US for unknown reasons, but they sell this foundation online. It's really inexpensive and works wonderfully like a concealer.

Products Used:
Revlon Eye Quad in Silver Fox
The Revlon eyeshadow is awesome! SUPER silky and feels like mineral eyeshadow. It's not outrageously pigmented but it's enough to give you a modest color. The colors are really true to life and it goes onto the skin without too much fallout. I really like it a lot and I can imagine lots of uses for it :) Definitely a go for me :) I love hoarding awesome eyeshadow palettes :) No mascara, or eye liner today... I felt super naked at work today but it's okay. It feels freeing in some sick way :)

Revlon
I recently picked up a few Revlon items from CVS. If you have their Care Card, you can scan coupons in the store. You just bring your little keychain card thing and scan it, (usually in the front entrance of the store) and out comes random coupons. So I scanned mine and received a $7 off any $15 Revlon purchase. On top of that, I had a $1 Revlon coupon that I found lying around in the store =D Here's what I got!
The eyeshadow colors are gorgeous in the pan. I was really attracted to the jewel-like colors in the palette. There is something about those colors that really enticed me into buying. The eyeshadows are really pretty, but it may be a little chalky for my taste. I haven't used it yet so I can't judge for sure. I'm really liking the colors though! :) The texture is really silky compared to a lot of my other eyeshadows, and the flecks of shimmery silver stuff (highlight color) is also really pretty. All 4 shades have shimmer in it, but I will do a better review on it after usage :)
This is the nail polish in Peach Petal. Isn't it such a pretty shade?!!? I know I'm super late in hoarding this polish since most bloggers are in love with it. You blogger gals are so infectious when it comes to loving something. I really like this shade a lot.. it's a very opaque milky pink color. It's not sheer at ALL and two coats should be more than enough. Not sure why I didn't get this earlier? I guess I couldn't justify the $3.99 price tag for one color... which is crazy in itself. But I guess I got a better deal now? :) I also got some matte shades so I'm pretty excited about trying them soon as well. I have high hopes for Powder Puff... I really hope it turns out to be what I want it to be. If you go to the store, you can see it on Halle Berry's nails... LOL :) It should be an opaque pearly white frenchy color. I hope that's a vivid enough description.
So those are my most recent drugstore purchases. Anyone have a favorite Revlon product you'd like to share? :) Compell me!!

ELF Concealer/Highlighter, Milani glosses and Accessories
I know I've probably reviewed the ELF Concealer/Highlighter Duo before, but I started using it a lot these past weeks and I am loving it more and more each day. It's really an awesome value at $3.00 and while you can get it for less if you get the 50% discount, the $3.00 price tag is pretty awesome. Shade is in Light/Glow.
It works really well for me and has slowly become a favorite of mine. I bought it thinking it will just be good to travel with but the formula would be sheer, and not mediocre. In fact, it's the opposite for me. I guess to some people it may still be crap, but I honestly love it. It covers well, opaque enough and lasts all day. The highlighter is ehh for me. I don't care for it. I only like the concealer part :) The best part? Inexpensive and effective. It was the best $3.00 I've ever spent on a random concealer =p I just felt like raving about it today. I've been getting minimal amounts of sleep and this has been an eye saver :)
Over the Labor Day weekend, I also bought some Milani lip glosses from all the hype I've heard about them. R-L Whisper, Hush Hush.
My verdict? They are a definite no. These lip glosses are terrible, possibly the worse I've ever used. The colors are horribly sheer and and very sticky with a very strong synthetic vanilla scent. I expected Whisper to be a milky pink shade because it looked pretty opaque from the packaging. But no go, there was barely any color. And whatever color there actually was, the gloss in itself was a big goopy disappointment. Hush Hush is completely unwearable. From the packaging, it looked like a bronzy pink, but it was over the top frosty and really skanky looking. Can lip glosses even be described as skanky? =p And the smell is unbearable. I usually love scented glosses, but these... these were nauseating. This is an understatement.
Anyway! I also ordered some accessories from Forever 21. I think I'm starting to become obsessed with shopping online! My order came in less a week, with free shipping and everything packaged so neatly that I didn't have to browse through the messy, crowded shackles of the mall to get into the even more messier, tween laden store.
I also got a white scarf that I somehow didn't get a picture of. The accessories are casual. I especially love the hair clips and the clock necklace :) The last picture is crap. It looks a lot better in person :)
I also got some new jammies for the Fall :) I love fuzzy sleeping pants. There's something so youthful and quirky about them.

Makeup:
Revlon Photo Finish in Nude
ELF Concealer/Highlighter in Light/Glow
Sephora Palette for eyeshadow, blush and lip gloss - I used the first blush. Isn't it extremely pigmented? One swipe and I had to soften the color. It was way to sharp for work.
I hope you all have a wonderful Friday tomm. I'm off to catch up on blogs now :)

Labor Day Weekend! & Hair Cut
I hope you all had a nice and relaxing Labor Day weekend. I love three day weekends because they are a gift.. LOL How many of us can use more of these right? :) Yes, it's true. So why must it be over...!? Boo...
So my weekend started off with receiving a package from the lovely Sheila from Maddy Loves. She is so generous... I can't even gratify with words. It was for her birthday giveaway and she included in my package a lot of things that she loves: Dior! And Gucci I'm sure :)
Contents:
Full sized Dior Show Mascara in Black - Classic favorite. Now I get to see what the hype is about :)
Dior Creme De Gloss - A vibrant, intense pink or off-red. It's a beautiful shade that I can't describe.
3D nail set - My first nail sticker kit! I can't wait to play with it! :)
Earrings from EkiLove - Aww... my first pair of Eki earrings. They are beautiful and dangly heart shaped crystals with little with white beads. VERY cute! :)
Gucci Perfumes! - Rush, Envy Me, Gucci - They all smell lovely. They are in such awesome sizes too. I can carry them all in my purse. They can become part of my power perfumes <3
Dior Addict Lipstick in Ultra Nude - It's like she read my mind. It's a gorgeous nudy pink shade with their signature Dior Addict sheen. Nudy pinks are LOVE.
Biotherm Source Therapie moisturizer - Very nice, very light moisturizer that is reminiscent of a lot of Estee Lauder moisturizers. Really nice quality, fresh scent and absorbing qualities.
Cellnique Sebum Gel sample - I've been reading lots of reviews about this! I can't wait to try it!
DHC Olive Virgin Oil - I love oils. Period.
Thank you Sheila... you are so sweet to mail these items to me from Canada! I can't wait to use them in the coming days! <3 Visit her @ Maddy Loves!
I will swatch all of these in my next post! :)
Over the weekend, I also trimmed my hair or... maintained it. I don't usually do much to my hair but I felt I needed a haircut since my hair was getting a bit much to handle. It was a subtle change :) I didn't do anything too drastic! But I may someday when I have the guts to.
Here is my BEFORE HAIR:
AFTER HAIR:
I got bangs! o_o It's mostly going to be clipped to the side because I don't think it's too great on me. I'll show it to you guys eventually. I'm too shy still! LOL I don't really think I have the face shape for it although I wish i did! o_o Side swept for now =P
I only got them because I love Zooey Deschanel. She's utterly gorgeous... I just love love love her look so much. She is my inspiration for everything! LOL :)
Anyway, here's what I wore to work today! Not the hoochy shorts though! LOL
I can't believe this top was in my "donate" pile. I remember loving it so much once and then not so much and now falling in love with it again. The top is a dreamy white with really nice little details that I have come to love again. Hooray for forgotten treasures. I feel like I've been doing that a lot lately! Re-discovering old favorites :)
And my silly attempt at a floppy hat I've been looking for all summer. I was trying to find the one Angie had from H&M but I never saw it there. I think she got it at the beginning of summer... it's now the end and I finally got one from Target. Forgive my desperate look! LOL It's hard to walk and cam at the same time :p All you fashion bloggers are so freaking awesome with the outdoors and a camera =P
