Manicure Fail

Ok, I kid you not. This is my nails after 2 days. TWO! Meh :(

Sorry for the scariness.

This was 2 coats of OPI's Merry Me polish with 1 coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Any tips on how to make nail polish last longer? I'm totally bummed out. I mean, yeah my nails are gross right now.

This always happens with me and nail polish! Nail polish hates to stay on my nails- yet at the same time it is so hard to remove, it doesn't make sense at all :( Not tips on my end, but any one else's would be great help to me too!

I'd like to know too! My nail polish is always chipping and it's such a pain to repaint them!

Yeah, maybe that's it. I had a similar experience before. When I used a color polish on its own, it didn't chip as fast as when I top it with a orly top coat.

Oh no :( Such a shame because the colour is so beautiful! xo

I swear it's the Seche Vite that does that. My nails never lasted when I used that stuff. I have the Nails Inc top coat now and it's better.

Yeah I think it is the SV! I'll try another top coat. Thanks!! :)

Thanks Kim! I agree, it's the combo!

That happens to me ALL the time, everytime i use seche vite! at first i was in love with it, but the more i use that top coat the more i notice how easily my nails chip

I felt like that when I used SV's top coat. I used to be able to peel my polish clean off. Try a base coat too that may help. Also I heard that lightly buffing your nails with a file to get rid of the oil helps the polish adhere longer. I've tried it once or twice and my polish lasted for a week with some minor chips.

Ugh bummer! I agree with some of the previous suggestions, it's the combo. However, totally vouching for SV, I won't use any other top coat, and I have never had a problem. I do notice sometimes though, depending on how much polish is layered (I suck at keeping it even) it may be easier to "peel" off than if you have less layers/thinner layers. O_o; But even with SV my manis usually last well past a week.

that stinks :( my nails chip so fast. the nailtek foundation 2 has helped. i have yet to find a top coat i really love, but nails inc is my favorite nail brand in general so the one tracy suggested may be awesome!

That's so strange! I usually haven't had any such experience with the OPI polishes I have. Have you tried Insta-Dri by Sally Hansen as a top coat?

It's ashame as the colour is pretty. :(

booo! I think the trick to making polish last longer is to make sure you apply them to clean, oil-free nails. I clean my nails off previous polish, wash with soap and water, and then dry them, making sure that there isn't any oily or soapy residue before I put the new polish on. Hope that helps!
