I am so excited to show you gals a recent find that I am crazy about! I know nail colors come in about a dime a dozen and dupes are literally everywhere. BUT, I recently got into nail color and I became obsessed with Essie's Ballet Slippers! It's such an elegant, glossy baby pink with the right amount of glossiness. An awesome My Nails but Better everyday color. I browsed around my local Walgreen's and a Wet n' Wild stand with nail colors on sale caught my attention. I noticed something similar to Ballet Slippers, called 2% Milk. HOW CUTE IS THAT? The name itself enticed me to keep it! :) For $1.99, I decided hey what the heck and brought it home with me.
Essie's Ballet Slippers and Wet N' Wild in 2% Milk
Wet n' Wild's 2% Milk - It's a milky nude shade that seems to be universally flattering. It's not exactly white, but more of a nude baby pink. Isn't it a pretty color? It took 2 coats of polish for this opacity. O_O
Essie's Ballet Slippers - A little more pinkier than 2% milk but it still has the same enamel shine that 2% Milk has. I think that's the main reason it stood out to me as a possible dupe.
What I liked about 2% Milk is the brush! It's a lot more easier to use because of the flat shape. The flat brush almost literally coats the entire nail in one stroke. It's seriously like a game changer for me. I own quite a few polishes but none have the flat brush. I can't even emphasize how much I love it! LOL
Hopefully you can see the brush well enough. I prefer the flat ones to the round ones because it's a lot more easier to apply and I get a cleaner application. It presses the polish onto the surface of my nail flat so doesn't create a buildup of excess nail color on my nail. I'm pretty sure I've gone to the deep end of explaining this and nail pros would probably laugh at the absurdity of my statement ;)
Nonetheless, I am raving about it - The gorgeous shade, the awesome brush and the price! I am very happily enjoying this color now. 2% Milk is a very timeless color and exudes wedding elegance. One of the best purchases this year, frealz.

the W&W 2% milk shade is such a gorgeous color!! I think this is the first time I've seen such a nice combination of nudy pinkish white? lolz..I'm bad at describing colors. But its really a lovely shade! thanks for sharing ^_~
All the wet n' wild nail polishes I've had had round brushes and it always annoyed me how it needed more than one coat, but the brush wouldn't allow me to make two coats evenly! >:C
I ended up using a flat brush from another nail polish I finished using and just screwing it onto one I like hahaha Flat brushes are WAY better in my opinion. and I do agree with you that it covers the whole nail so it's pretty much a quick manicure! nice review and it was a good read! :) ♥

Not bad at all! : D I love the enamel pale look for nails.. it looks almost like a french tip but not really.. a bit more natural than that.
They're both lovely shades and very similar! I do like flat shape brushes as they are a little easier to work with. But lighter shades like these do tend to require heaps of coats for full opacity (which I prefer) - unfortunately I rarely have the patience and it ends up as a gloopy mess :p
That is a really cute name. And I love the fatter brushes! They are much easier to work with, I find. Less messy!
I always thought of Wet and Wild as a bit too cheap to put on one's skin. Maybe it's the paranoia talking (über sensitive breakout prone skin here) but I'm yet to give the brand a try. I think Essie is a bit overpriced for the quality (and crummy brush) so if W&W is a good enough dupe I'll probably check it out.
I have the 2% milk, I like the color but I don't like it takes forever to dry. :) Let me know if you receive the package!
Wow! This is a great color and great deal as well. It looks natural and light which i prefer when it comes to fingernails. It looks very girly. Got to have one too.

this is an interesting pastel-y kind of colour! No.7's nail polishes had a flat brush - I really liked it too!

I think my next mission is to fing W&W 2% Milk here in the Philippines. Haha. I love pink but I'm Morena so as much as possible I try to complement my skin color with nude or nudish types of nail colors, make up. And thi 2% Milk sounds perfect for me! :) I'll let you know when I have it and thanks for posting this.

Just picked up this color along with another WnW shade. A couple of months ago, I saw about 40 new colors & reboots in dollar General, so I've been pretty hooked on the the new colors and some I missed on the first release. Some ppl hate the WnW flat brush, but I like it. I just make sure it's not too much on the brush or else it gets messy. Tiny brushes are guaranteed to leave streaks and uneven color. Almost every Essie polish I've had has been a little overrated which is why I give less expensive underrated polishes like WnW Megalast a chance. I mean the Essie display is like eye candy....so many pretty colors, but you can find cheaper dupes imo. Out of the $8 polishes, I've been the most pleased with Orly over Essie, OPI, etc.
